Below is Ann’s story. In a short period of time, we have been introduced to each other, we both have realised that massage & reflexology helps in so many ways. Ann cannot have deep pressure nor a full body massage, so I try to cover her top half in as much aromatherapy oil and massage movements as possible to give her the best benefits. Some days I can massage areas other times it is not possible with sensations she feels. We have found that nerves/ muscles stimulated change at every session and No one session results in the same effect. I have learned a lot by Ann telling me what is happening to her body while I massage or apply reflexology to her hands and every session is intriguing. She has strength and when that fails to shine then I am usually there with the healing treatments. I am still very intrigued at how she can feel tingling or sensations in areas that she cannot move and while I am knowledgeable about referred pains, massage and trigger point therapy it keeps me and Ann on our toes. Ann sometimes feels tired after a session and sleeps for a hours as her body begins a healing process.
“When I got to my late 30s the osteoarthritis that I was diagnosed with in 2003 became worse and I sought out help again to relief pain and improve my well-being inside and out. That is when I found Sam and we discussed my unique situation and how I ended up as paraplegic T6 complete (for those that like details) chest level to me and you and autonomic dysreflexia, a potentially dangerous condition after my motor bike accident, life changing as you can imagine or not. I continue to adjust around health issues and level of stamina that doesn’t go as far as it did a few years ago. Having discovered reflexology and bonus of therapeutic massage Sam provides, it has greatly improved my health inside and out. Though I still need to learn not to do much after a session with her. Ever since I contacted Sam and started having sessions with her 1st reflexology then later massage, it has been amazing to feel less pain and feel more energy from both treatments, which we discussed, trialled, and incorporated into our regular sessions”.
“My spinal injury is ever evolving, how I feel pain for the parts I can’t feel, sharing this with Sam has been eye opening for us both. I am learning more about my body, from what I can feel above my break and below. The sensations can be so different with each session and yet the sessions are like the previous session, but my body responds to each treatment differently”.
I have a Disability yes that's true, but all that really means is I may have to take a slightly different path than you.
